How to apply for financial aid

Please note: the deadlines listed here are for prospective students only; returning students should see the Financial Aid site for applicable deadlines.

Step 1
Complete the FAFSA by Feb. 15.
FAFSA stands for Free Application for Federal Student Aid, collected by the U.S. Department of Education. Use the Wake Forest code: 002978.

Step 2
Fill out your CSS PROFILE by Feb. 15.
PROFILE is a service of the not-for-profit College Board, and Wake Forest uses the information to award non-federal aid funds. Use the Wake Forest code: 5885
(The CSS Profile is not required if you are only applying for federal financial aid.)

Step 3
Send your federal tax returns and W-2 forms to the IDOC by March 1.
IDOC stands for Institutional Documentation Service. The program is run by the College Board on behalf of colleges like Wake Forest.
