Job Title: Citi Group
The highlight of my Wake Forest experience was having the opportunity to do an independent internship with Professor Thomas Frank, chair of the History department. Sophomore year, I took his Historic Preservation class and we began a project looking at the history of Wake Forest University – both the Wake Forest and Winston-Salem campuses. I continued this project into the fall of my senior year and, after lots of digging in the ZSR archives, discovered the college’s plans to uproot the student body, faculty, and staff and make the historic move to a new campus.
Fun fact: the buildings surrounding Hearn Plaza were originally built to house grocery stores and clothing shops in an effort to build a community of faculty and students in Winston-Salem. This internship experience completely reshaped my view of my alma mater and its relationship with the city and landscape around it.
After graduation, I will be working as an analyst in the Human Resources Rotational Program with Citi Group in New York City. I am so excited to pair my interest in human resources with my passion for global education and understanding!
